Procedural Note: This case, known colloquially as the "Lester Street Massacre," was prosecuted in 2010. The defendant was convicted of the premeditated murders of his brother, Cecil Dotson, and five others.
Current Custody Status: Inmate is currently housed at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution (Unit 2, Death Row).
Appellate History: Following the exhaustion of direct state appeals in 2014 and 2019, the defendant filed a new petition for habeas corpus in 2024, alleging coerced confession and ineffective counsel. As of early 2026, federal habeas proceedings are pending. Tennessee is scheduled to resume executions in Spring 2025, though no date has been set for this defendant.
